The Super Eagles of Nigeria have been thrown out of the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon thanks to a 1-0 victory on Sunday.

The Eagles maintained a 100%record in the group stage, winning three of their three group games but could not overcome the Eagles of Tunisia.

Youssef Msakni gave Tunisia the lead in the 47th minute thanks to a long-range strike that beat goalkeeper Maduka Okoye.

Things became worst for the Super Eagles when Alex Iwobi was given the marching orders just a few minutes after his introduction.

Nigeria striker Umar Sadiq missed a glorious chance after Nigeria mounted pressure on the Tunisian defense but couldn’t find the equalizer.

Tunisia will now face Burkina Faso in the quarter-finals who themselves defeated Gabon 7-6 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in the regulation time.
