The MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja hosted two events of different intentions on Tuesday night.

The first event was the final leg of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers involving Ghana and Nigeria with the second event being the vandalization of the sporting complex.

Ghana played out a 1-1 draw against the Super Eagles of Nigeria which the Black Stars qualified on away goal rule after the first leg ended goalless draw in Kumasi.

Nigeria needed a win after Ghana captain Thomas Partey gave his side the lead early in the first half.

But Nigeria captain William Troost-Ekong offered a lifeline and equalized from the spot after Ademola Lookman who made his full debut was brought down in the box.

Ekong stepped up to send the goalkeeper the wrong way to bring his side back into the game.

But Nigeria could not score the winning goal even after coach Augustine Eguavoen played Osimhem, Ighalo, Musa, Simon, Lookman, Dennis and Sadiq.

The fans who could not control their anger stormed the Pitch, destroyed the chairs and the reserve bench, tore the nets and destroyed every plastic around the pitch.

The situation was later handled by the Nigeria Police Force who helped Ghana leave the stadium to their hotel where they lodged as they will depart the Country on Wednesday morning.
