The Experience Lagos, is an annual Gospel Music Concert that holds in Lagos, Nigeria. This event is free to attend and as such, it attracts lots of people from around Nigeria and beyond. The event usually holds in Lagos state, Nigeria, however, it is not strange to find people travelling from both neighbouring and even far states, just to attend this event.
The annual experience was launched by Paul Adefarasin, the Senior Pastor of the House on the Rock Church, in December 2006. The 2022 edition will be its 16th instalment.
History of The Experience Lagos
The debut concert in 2006 had about 70,000 people in attendance.
It featured local and international gospel artists like Kirk Franklin, Israel Houghton, Donnie McClurkin, Lionel Peterson, Jamal Bryant, Mike Aremu, Dunni Olanrewaju, Dc Envoys, Gordons, Asu Ekiye, Buchi, Tosin Martins, and Midnight Crew.
Popular Nigerians have attended the concert over the years. Former President Goodluck Jonathan and Former Governor Babatunde Fashola graced The Experience in 2010. In 2016, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and his wife, Oludolapo Osinbajo were in attendance. Nigerian celebrities like Don Jazzy, Tiwa Savage, Dr SID, and Toke Makinwa also attended the concert in 2016.
In 2017, over 700, 000 people attended the concert. In 2019, Travis Greene recognised the event as the biggest gospel music concert in the world and it was attended by almost a million people. The same year, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his wife, Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu attended the concert.
The concert’s mission is to “showcase artistic musical performances, goodwill messages and intercessory prayers by internationally recognised artists, Icons and Luminaries uniting under Christ’s banner to amplify the gospel and share His universal message of peace and goodwill to all.”

Where is The Experience holding this year?
The 2022 Experience Lagos, is expected to hold at The Rock Cathedral, Lekki, Lagos.
In 2020, Hillsong, and Tasha Cobbs, made their debut during the live event.
The Experience Lagos is usually filled with many Gospel singers and preachers from within Nigeria and all over the world. Many gospel artists from all over the world perform at the annual event some of whom are, Don Moen, Nathaniel Bassey, Sinach, Joel Osteen, and Travis Greene.
