Nnamdi Kanu, the embattled leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has pleaded not guilty to the Federal Government’s seven revised accusations against him.

According to Channels Television, Kanu, who was re-arrested on Thursday at the Federal High Court in Abuja, claimed he was innocent of all the charges leveled against him.

He pleaded not guilty when the charges were read to him.

During the hearing, the court denied his request to be transferred from the DSS facility where he had been kept to Kuje Correctional Centre.

However, the trial judge, Justice Binta Nyako, authorized him to visit him in the DSS facility with three people of his choosing.

The judge then postponed the case until November 10 to hear his application, which questioned the charges’ competency.

The allegations against him were recently modified by the federal government, increasing the number of counts against him from five to seven. The new charges are treasonous felony and terrorism-related.
