The European leagues returned on Friday after the last international break which allowed teams to sort out their ways to Qatar as the FIFA World Cup approaches.

Two weeks have been enough for National teams to register themselves as participants in FIFA’s biggest event, with the most shocking result during the break, North Macedonia eliminating Italy from the World Cup.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria were also bundled out by neighbors, Ghana, who went to Abuja and played out a 1-1 draw, helping them qualify on away goal rule.

After all matches, the players have returned to their respective Clubs and are set to compete in their different leagues.

With two key Super Eagles midfielders out injured and Wilfred Ndidi declared to be out for the rest of the season, the extent to which Frank Onyenka will be sidelined is yet to be announced by his club Brentford.

Several Eagles will be in contention for starting places in their respective football clubs in Europe’s biggest leagues.

Premier League:

Liverpool will host Watford at the Anfield stadium in an English Premier league early kickoff game.

The Canaries appear to be parading the highest number of Super Eagles players with William Troost-Ekong, Oghenekaro Etebo, Samuel Kalu and Emmanuel Bonaventure Dennis all in the books for Watford and are also in contention to start against Liverpool who are chasing their 20th league title.

Youngsters Dele-Bashiru and Maduka Okeye also have their names in the books for Watford though they are out on loan at Reading F.C. and Sparta Rotterdam respectively.

Frank Onyeka will be sidelined is Brentford’s travel to Stamford Bridge after sustaining an injury in Nigeria’s 1-1 draw against Ghana.

Kelechi Iheanacho and Ademola Lookman will be the only contenders in the Leicester City’s side that travel to Old Trafford to face Manchester United, as Ndidi has been ruled out for the rest of the season.

La Liga:

Samuel Chukwueze will be the Super Eagles delegate in La Liga as Villarreal travel to Levante to continue to fight for an European spot finish.

Serie A:

Elsewhere in Italy, as Spezia host Venezia, Tyronne Ebuehi may likely feature for the away side as they battle for survival.

Serie A player of the month of March, Victor Osimhen will have to wait until Sunday before he can return to action as second-placed Napoli will continue their quest for a league title.

German Bundesliga:

With Taiwo Awoniyi valued as the Super Eagles representative in the German top flight, the forward scored on Friday to help his side win a 1-0 over FC Cologne.

Ligue 1:

With Moses Simon here as the only representative, the Nantes forward will have to wait until Sunday before taking his side out for a battle as they fight to end the season on a high.

All teams detailed here will play on Saturday as Sunday edition will also be published.
