Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Governor of Lagos State, has allowed free rides on BRT lanes for Christmas Day, December 25, 2021, and New Year’s Day, January 1, 2022.

This was stated in a statement signed by Engr. (Mrs.) Abimbola Akinajo, the Managing Director of the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority.

The free commuter bus services are being offered to Lagosians in the spirit of joy, love, and peace that the festive season represents, according to the statement.

According to her, the Sanwo-Olu administration is committed to ensuring that the Strategic Transport Master Plan is implemented through the Multimodal Transport System, which is currently taking shape through water transportation and the continuing Blue and Red Lines train projects.

The Managing Director expressed the government’s gratitude for the citizens’ patience and perseverance in the face of the inconveniences associated with transportation infrastructure construction, assuring that consistent and spirited efforts are being made to improve public transportation and traffic management.

While wishing all Lagosians a happy holiday season, Akinajo urged everyone to follow the COVID-19 safety guidelines and travel safely over the holiday season.
