The Nigeria National team has, on Tuesday, been drawn in group A of the African Cup of Nations 2023 slated to take place in Cote d’Ivoire.

Confederations of African Football (CAF) conducted the draws in South Africa in preparation for next year’s event.

The draw was conducted by African football legends, former South Africa defender, Lucas Radebe, and ex Côte d’Ivoire forward, Solomon Kalou.

Nigeria, which is drawn in group A, will play against Sierra Leone, Guinea-Bissau, and Sao Tome / Mauritius.

The Super Eagles’ last appearance in the competition saw them win all their three group games but ended up being eliminated by Tunisia in the Round of 16.

The Nigeria Football Federation is yet to announce a new coach who will take charge of the team during the tournament but has agreed on a warm-up game against Mexico and Ecuador.
