JJC Skillz, the popular Nigerian rapper and ex-husband of Funke Akindele, has spoken about why he celebrated his estranged wife on her 45th birthday, a few days ago.
On Wednesday 24th August, the actress cum politician shared lovely pictures of herself on her social media pages to mark her 45th birthday. On the same day, her estranged husband, JJC Skillz took to his social media pages to pen a heartfelt message to her. He wrote; “Happy birthday my darling mama ibeji @funkejenifaakindele I pray our children embody the goodness of God and be a blessing to generations. Today is your day, celebrate and live to the fullest. Long life and prosperity.
His actions sparked a lot of uproar from confused fans who wondered if they had secretly gotten back together as many could not understand why he would celebrate his ex-wife on her birthday.
Speaking in an interview with TVC, JJC Skillz explained the reason for celebrating Funke Akindele on her birthday. He said they had enjoyed almost seven years of a lovely relationship and so he wished her well.
In his words, “A lot of people are quite shocked to find out that I am human, To be honest, growing up in England and with my experience of having different baby mamas, the most important thing is the children. Just focus on the children and let all the drama go and most importantly, have the attitude of gratitude. We had almost seven good years of a lovely relationship, so happy birthday to her and I wish her luck.”
