A gas explosion in Anambra State has killed a female student who is identified simply as Miss Precious. She died yesterday at Ifite Awka in her lodge.
The Nation’s report indicated that the deceased said to be a student of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, was reportedly trapped by a collapsed wall of the building due to explosion, while some other occupants of the lodge also sustained injuries.
The report said that the lodge predominantly occupied by students of Nnamdi Azikiwe University was seriously damaged by fire.
A resident of the area, Obinna Anyanwu, was reported to say that the explosion was caused by one of the occupants who was cooking with her gas cylinder in her room.
